ABOUT REVIVE

What does pelvic floor physical therapy involve?

The pelvis and pelvic floor muscles are a central part of how our body both stabilizes and moves. It has many different functions including core stability, pelvic organ support, bladder and bowel control, and sexual function.

At Revive Physical Therapy we look at you from head-to-toe in order to ensure we are treating the root cause of your symptoms. Treatment may include manual therapy, exercise education, dry needling, or cupping.

What makes Revive different?

At many facilities, your provider will be seeing 3-4 patients at a time in a large gym space and are not able to provide individualized care based off of your goals.

At Revive Physical Therapy, all appointments are 1:1 with a board-certified physical therapist that has specialized in pelvic floor therapy through countless hours of continuing-education (not just one weekend course). Treatment occurs in a private treatment room and is never rushed. Our evaluations are 90-minutes long in order to allow for ample time to address all concerns and follow-up treatments are at least 60-minutes. You will always see the same specialist who will cater care toward helping you return back to your goals. We care deeply about each and every one of our patients and believe in treating the whole person, not just a symptom. Reviving strength. Restoring confidence.

CAN REVIVE HELP ME?

Can you treat my problem?

Yes! The pelvic floor has many different functions including core stability, pelvic organ support, bladder and bowel control, and sexual function. Our therapists have received advanced training in these areas and specialize in these pelvic health issues.

If you have more questions about your specific symptoms, give our team a call! We’re happy to answer all of your questions so you feel confident about the care that you are receiving at Revive.

I’ve been to pelvic floor physical therapy; can you still help me?

Yes! Many of our patients have tried other forms of traditional physical therapy and pelvic floor physical therapy. Through person-first treatment strategy and advanced techniques Revive provides a very different experience than other traditional facilities.

Can’t I just do kegels?

Actually no. While kegels can sometimes help cover up symptoms, they can also make symptoms worse. They also don’t address the root cause of what is going on. Your treatment plan at Revive will be a lot more than “just do more kegels” as we treat the root issue to get you back to your goals.

What does my first appointment look like?

During your first appointment, you’ll be welcomed by your specialist and guided to a private treatment room. During your 90-minute initial evaluation you’ll be able to share your story, symptoms, and goals and not feel rushed. You’ll also receive a thorough examination from head-to-toe to truly understand the root of the issue. Your therapist then walks through an ‘action plan’ with you to help to meet your goals.

We know that coming to pelvic floor physical therapy can be intimidating. Know that at Revive Physical Therapy you will be taken care of, we ensure your comfortability, and treatment will never be rushed.

Will I be given exercises or recommendations for at home?

Yes! In order to ensure success, you will be given exercises and recommendations to complete at home in order to continue progress toward your goals. Your therapist will work with you during your session to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with the work being given. Your therapist will also adapt the home program to make it reasonable for you based on your lifestyle and goals.
